Post Date:05/10/2017 9:41 AM

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered to vote in the precinct in which you live, in order to be qualified to vote.

For the convenience of the citizens of Appomattox County, the General Registrar’s Office located in the lower level of the Health Department is open each week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 to 11:25 and 12:30 to 4:30.

If you are not currently registered to vote and in order to vote in the June 13 Dual Primary, you must register to vote no later than 5 p.m. on Monday May 22, 2017

If you want to avoid an extended wait in line on Election Day, make sure your registration information is correct and up to date. Don’t forget the PHOTO ID REQUIRMENT to vote in Virginia.  Call the Registrar’s office if you do not have a valid photo ID.

The office will be open Saturday June 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of accepting applications for absentee ballots for the Primaries. The last day we can accept an absentee application on line or by mail is June 6, 2017.

You are encouraged to pick up a voter registration application at one of the following locations or on line at www.elections.virginia.gov

  • Appomattox County Post Office
  • J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library

Or visit the registration office during its scheduled hours.. Please call us at the number shown below should you have any questions. Remember, a good citizen registers and votes.
