Virginia State Parks
Visit one of our three states parks in the area. Holliday Lake, James River or the new High Bridge Trail State Park. All three of the parks offer unique programs for families every month such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, canoe trips, bluegrass music festivals & much more. Now in its 19th year, the 2017 APX 3rd Fridays season events will be held on the third Friday each month from May through October, with the first event being held on May 19th & with the final event being held on October 13th (to help kick-off the annual Railroad Festival Weekend) in downtown Abbitt Memorial Park from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Events include live performances from local bands & fun activities for kids. Adult beverages, a 50/50 raffle, as well as, local restaurants selling drinks, delicious, hot food & snacks.
Lawn chairs are always welcome, however, NO coolers or pets please.

Arts & Heritage Festival
Explore stories of the national park through art, music, history, theatre, nature, painting & more at the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park on June 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For more information cal 434-352-8987.
Appomattox Courthouse Theatre

Joel Sweeney Summer Concert Series

July 4th Celebration "Salute to America"
Liberty Baptist Church will sponsor a "Salute to America" celebration on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Appomattox County High School beginning at 6:00 p.m. Events will be going on throughout the evening with Fireworks at dark. First Saturday Market Day
Come out & support the new local APX Market in Appomattox at 1848 Church Street. The market will be open March 4 & April 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The market consists of local vendors selling their goods. Wolfbane Theatrical Productions
Wolfbane Productions is a non-profit professional theatre company in Appomattox dedicated to providing live entertainment experiences, cultural events & theatrical productions. National Park Lantern Tours
Join the Appomattox 1865 Foundation at the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park for the 6th Annual Lantern Tours on September 29 & 30, 2017. The lantern tours allow visitors to experience the park in the evening as the village would have looked back in the mid-ninetheenth century.
